Founded in 2018 (originally Portify), the company has raised several equity rounds. In 2022, Pave launched its B2B service, the

Like many entrepreneurs, Pave co-founder and CEO

Making tech more diverse and inclusive is a cause that founder Zaire Allen believes in deeply. “I grew up in South Manchester,” he says. “There aren’t many people that I had as reference points for what someone in tech looks like, or just to be able to even reach out to them… I thought the best thing I could do is get myself into a career first, and then teach people from there.”

After building an impressive resume as an award-winning designer working with Apple, Google, and Sony,

The challenge: Traditional financing missed the mark for a unique business model

For many companies, selling some equity is the usual course of action to take at certain times during the business’s journey. One of the great advantages of having a Co-CEO that you’ve worked with for almost a decade is that you can build and grow together. There’s an indescribable level of trust in each other to do so. That’s what I have in Josh, who will be moving from Co-CEO into the CEO position in the interim. Josh will continue leading the internal organization as we double down on what our customers need from us as their capital and growth partner. Once the new CEO is announced, Josh will become Executive Chairman, with a continued focus on product and strategy. As part of streamlining our leadership, Usman will also be transitioning to the CTO role. He’s had a tremendous impact on our organization. Zain will also remain deeply involved, both at the board level and in his role as Senior Advisor.

I can assure you all that these changes are the result of meaningful deliberation and thoughtfulness, over an extended period of time, about how to position Pipe for success over the long term. We’re fortunate to be able to make changes from a position of strength, both structurally and financially. We’re taking all the right steps to expand our board and management team, so we can run hard at the opportunities ahead with the best-in-class leadership.

We’re blessed to have an amazing team, a strong customer base, and significant capital. We have kept our burn low, giving us the latitude to be thoughtful about these long-term impactful decisions.

Our highest priority is to take our significant lead in the market and leverage our strong financial position as we build toward our ultimate goal–to become the trading platform for all revenue.

Miami, FLA. – November 22, 2022  – Pipe, creator of the world's first trading platform for recurring revenues, and its Co-Founders Harry Hurst, Josh Mangel, and Zain Allarakhia announced several strategic decisions designed to best position the company for its next phase of growth.

 As part of the strategic plan, the Co-Founders today announced they have retained True Search to conduct a search for a veteran CEO with significant operational experience, proven leadership, and complementary skill set and perspective necessary to execute Pipe’s mission as it continues to scale.

Harry Hurst, Pipe’s Co-Founder and Co-CEO, is moving from his current position to Vice Chairman of Pipe to support the CEO search and transition. Co-Founder and Co-CEO Josh Mangel assumes the role of CEO and continues to lead the organization. Once the new CEO is announced, Mangel will become Executive Chairman with a continued focus on product and strategy. Usman Masood, currently the EVP of Engineering who has had a tremendous impact on Pipe over the past year, will become CTO. Allarakhia will also remain deeply involved, both at the board level and in his role as Senior Advisor.

In less than three years, Pipe has created the recurring revenue asset class and built a proven and highly active trading platform. Over 22,000 companies have signed up for Pipe and $7 billion of ARR has been connected to the platform. Over 50% of the trading volume on the platform comes from non-SaaS vertical markets including direct-to-consumer (D2C) subscriptions, streaming services, service-based businesses, and more.

Pipe Entertainment is one of the fastest-growing verticals on Pipe’s platform.

While remote work has been a challenge for many companies throughout the pandemic, Pipe publicly launched the world’s first recurring-revenue trading platform in June 2020 and has built a remote-first and fully distributed company from day one.
